| Bronzing of celeine maquette. |
| |
| |
| The wax casts of the maquette, funnels and runners for the metal and escaping air, covered with a mixture of sand and clay, the inner layer using fine clay from the local river bed, the outer, courser clay. |
| |
| Supported with steel rods, left to dry, and placed in a 'mud oven' to heat and remove the wax. |

| The metal, 'bronze', with some added cheaper metals is melted and poured in to the empty mould. |

| Once cooled, the mould is broken away, the finishing can begin..... but not in this case, as the metal collapsed as it cooled, leaving pits and misshaping, so its back to the wax work..... |
